Already the problems of signing "travelling" players are materialising. Apparently Ryan McDonald has told Haven he wants released from his contract as he is struggling to attend training. He lives in Yorkshire and works until 5pm and Haven's training sessions start at 6pm so he can't get there on time. There's an item confirming this on the club's official website.

maybe he`s got sick of being stuck on the wing, when he isn`t, and never has been, a good winger

From the crack I heard Haven had even sorted him a job up here. Obviously he didn't want to move back up to West Cumbria.

If McDonald didn't realise the implications of travelling back and forth to West Cumbria when he signed, then nobody at Whitehaven can be blamed for his hasty departure. If indeed they they did clinch a job for him as well as offering him a generous contract, then it is McDonald who should recieve the stick, not the BOD. There is more to this than meets the eye, and its his loss in the long run!

Apparantly there is more to this matter than meets the eye, but I think it should be just left alone. He was a good signing for Haven, but circumstances since his signing have changed. Neither the BOD or MacDonald should be given any stick over the matter.
