With Leigh hammeriung Widnes away 38-18 I think our chances of finishing 2nd are very doubtful. I think we will likely finish 4th although we have a game in hand. All will be clearer this time next week.

Haven are almost certainly relegated which means no local derby next season. I think it's a shame for Cumbria.

Town were very unlucky to lose to York according to the commentary and the ex Barrow players were very much to the fore. I wish some of them were still on Barrows books.

workington are doing well and improving all the time and guess what they have nearly a full side of cumbrian born players something that paul crarey was trying to achieve whilst he was in charge at craven park.it seems to me that workington are building bridges with alot of the amateur clubs in their area and trying to do things the right way by gradually building their club back up starting with solid foundations (homegrown talent, local lads, they will reap the benefit in the end.

If all the rumours are to be believed Town will also have the assistance of Sice, M Jackson and a couple of others from Haven next season.

I completely agree about the comments on Town and I would love to see them successful but how long will it take to build the gates back up to anywhere like previous levels. The average this season is about 460 per match at DP.

it will take time but like they say rome wasnt built in a day whats more annoying is that they are doing things the right way and signing locals. they probably have a 5 year plan and will just build things gradually and will more than likely have a team full of cumbrian players at the end of it.

One thing is for sure with Dave Bowden as Chairman there will be no getting in to substantial debt chasing a dream. I think if they can get a good local squad together and start next season with a few wins then crowds will start to improve as Workington is crying out for a successful team to follow. The Reds got to the Blue Square North play-offs and attracted a 1,500 crowd and I have no doubt that once people can see that Town are on the up and are serious contenders for promotion then we will get the same sort of interest.

Keith, if the side are looking competitive next year it would be worth getting into Stainburn, Solway, Netherhall, Beacon Hill & Southfield and handing out free tickets (or 1 free child with adult for £5) for the first NRC games. Attendances are crap for these matches at the moment, nothing would be lost, but getting 50-100 extra spectatrs buying crisps & pop would surely boost the coffers.

I only mention the secondaries as they can go on their own & I don't know what the primaries are called.
