What do you think about this?
Recregoer
He is no better than we already have so he will be back up i think.

Sorry marra but i have to disagree.
If Gus is half the player he was when he left us he will walk into the starting line up, Nanyn is average at best but Gus is something special.
Gus plays with his heart unlike nanyn and is twice as strong as him he tackles likw a trojan and if Stan Martin says hes playing as well as ever he will do for me.
Also after speaking to Seedsy at work he is of the belief that Gus will be a permanent fixture this season.
Recregoer
I can't see him dropping Nanyn, Nanyn can't play on the wing as he is too slow and we need the points Nanyn gives us. Gus plays in the forwards now i heard so that gives him less chance of getting in. As i say he would be a good bench player can come on and play in the backs and forwards.

Brown can now play centre, second row or loose forward. I really can't see Nanyn starting ahead of him. He's nothing special in open play and he's an average kicker (does anyone know if Penny's a decent kicker).
Recregoer
I don't think Penny Kicks goals.

Jacko is the best kicker we have at the club and can boot them from anywhere on the field consistantly, the only problem is can he play 80 minutes.
Also wesley wilson is just as good of a kicker as nanyn so there are a few options, Penny i think is a kicker on the field like Sam was but no goal kicker.

I've always thought Jacko should be given a chance to kick but he isn't really on the pitch enough and Wes kicked along time ago and wasn't very successful although i suggest he is given a chance. Also talk about Steven Wood in the last couple of days he is a very good goalkicker

I think you will find Wesleys successful kicks will not be far away from Nanyn's.
Not sure about Steve Wood on the playing side i think he is very ordinary but yes he is a good goalkicker.
Recregoer
I think the same about Steven Wood he could have made in RU i think but not that good in RL last season he was a big disappointment especially at Chorley (Oldham) when we lost there he had a poor game. I agree about Wesley would have a similar succesful kicking percentage as Nanyn. There is also O'Neil who can kick goals. Kirkbride is a good goalkicker but he isn't good enough to get in the team. We do really have a lot of options it's just all our kickers either aren't on the field very long or don't play at all. What about Carl Rudd can he not kick goals.

Anyone enlighten me as to how old Gus Brown will be now, know he was quite young when Stan brought him over first.
Recregoer
He's 28 or 29.

And who is your source off this? What you must have been how old `6-7` when he was here?

Gus Brown is a much better player now than what he used to be. 2 tries in the final not bad, 8 tries in 13 matches playing second row and 13 not bad considering he was playing in the `NZ-SL` think he will run riot over here to be honest.

Think he will be brill over here. only downfall is whos he going to kick out of squad in place ov him "PIP" if he goes second row? "Nanyn" if he goes center. think walsh will stay put at 13

I was about 10 actually he only played 6 or 7 years ago. Nanyn can produce 30+ tries a season so there is no way he will be dropped. We have the best second rowers in the league Hill and McDermott so i just can't see a place for Gus and i would put Spencer in front of him as well.
My views OK i don't want to start a full scale debate.

In this weeks New League Weekly it said that Haven were having problems getting Brown a work permit!!!!
