I think we, the fans of Town, are long overdue an explanation from the Chairman as to what exactly is happening at DP and why the players that we have recruited are not putting in the effort that is expected of semi-professional players.

For months people have been telling the board and the coach that this squad of players are not good enough even for the lowest of the professional leagues only to be given smacks on the wrist from the Chairman and the coach by way of them telling us that we are not far off being a decent team. That is an insult to the intelligence of many fans of long standing and they really do need to take a more dispassionate look at what is being offered in the name of our club.

Evey week we are making a chasm between the club and the possible support. I say possible support because people have been let down so many times in the past few years that many could not be drawn back to DP by a team of horses. How much longer do the Chairman and board of directors think the remaining fans are going to put up with this situation? Why do they listen more to the close knit community of the inner sanctums of DP than the larger majority of Town fans who have or are walking away every week?

Our neighbours down the road have more pressing financial worries than we have and yet they are looking at signing players, Gorski, Manehera, for instance and whilst we may laugh at the Manehera signing he wouldn't be any worse than the present incumbent of the scrum-half position. I would like a director, I'm not bothered if it isn't the Chairman or Vice Chairman to answer some of these concerns of the fans and tell us what our actual financial position is. Our coach is telling us that the team we put out is the team we can afford but I for one do not accept that because I wouldn't pay many of them in rust for what they produce.

To the Chairman, and Vice Chairman, you both know me as a person not afraid to confront you with pertinent questions, so I am not hiding behind a keyboard. I know you both as intelligent people, so why do you expect the fans to believe all the spin that comes out of DP after every match. The fans are not stupid, in fact many can read the games better than the directors but yet their opinions are pushed aside without the courtesy of a reasonable statement from the club.

This silence is what is alienating the club from many fans and the sooner someone stands up to be counted the better it will be. If the club is waiting until next season in the hope that we will pick up £100k from the RFL / SL then why not say so? Whatever, it is time for less spin and more honest to goodness facts and figures to be given to the fans whilst we still retain some. How many do you expect for the next home game???
